Fund banking is banking built for investment funds — venture capital, private equity, and other closed-end vehicles — and the entities around them, including the general partner and management company. It covers the financial operations of running a fund: collecting capital calls from LPs, deploying capital to portfolio companies, paying management fees and fund expenses, making distributions, and managing idle cash. Rho checking accounts are held at Webster Bank, a division of Santander Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, and insured up to $250,000. Rho savings accounts can access up to $75 million in FDIC insurance per entity, as American Deposit Management Co. spreads deposits across a network of more than 400 FDIC- and NCUA-insured institutions.
